Deeply Hanging Out – Day 1: Workshop
Join us for day one of Deeply Hanging Out – a two-day celebration of experimental performance and collaborative live art – unfolding across Adelaide’s public spaces and at ACE.

Day 1 is a care-based workshop for artists to develop new performance ideas and experiment together in an open, collaborative space.
Friday afternoon will move between live performance actions in public spaces across Adelaide’s CBD, and collective development sessions back at ACE. With a focus on experimentation and shared learning, artists are invited to test out raw ideas, create new frameworks for collaboration, and support each other in shaping works that may feature in Push/Pull (and beyond).
This event is free but capacity is limited. RSVP essential.

Workshop at ACE
12pm–1.30pm
Discussion about performance work in art history and some greatest hits of performance art; sharing of performance art “scores” collected for Deeply Hanging Out. Emiko Artemis will perform her short durational work, Earth Call/Fast: How do we centre the earth in our lives when our feet barely touch the ground?
1.30pm–2.30pm
Break into pairs, share, discuss, interview each other (outside/roaming). Curators and advisors will support artists to develop ideas into actions, if desired. Afternoon tea provided.
2.30pm–4pm
Pairs report back in a gentle and supportive group atmosphere for feedback and input and discussion.
4pm–6pm
Those who feel, be ready to perform on Saturday will receive support to develop their work further with the curators towards performing.

Day 2 / Saturday: Performance & Screenings
A full-day program of live performances, readings, experimental music, and screenings – including the Deeply Hanging Out Screen Program running on loop at Mercury Cinema.
